The Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani, today visited Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Speaker was accompanied by Hon Ahiakwo Christian , House Committee Chairman on Education and Hon. Michael O. Chinda, House Committee Chairman on Works.
According to the Speaker, they were in the Polytechnic for oversight functions and interaction with the Management of the school to have first hand information.
The Speaker commended the Rector and his team for the visible developmental projects and programmes as well as the quality of manpower they have.
The Rector Dr.(Barr.) Samuel Kalagbor in his remarks thanked the Speaker and his entourage for finding time to visit the Polytechnic. He further noted that it was the first time in the history of the Institution a Serving Speaker visited the Ivory Tower.
While eulogizeing them for their roles in changing status of the Polytechni, he informed the law Makers about some areas in the Polytechnic that requires intervention.
