EID-EL-KABIR: NSCDC Rivers State command Deploys 1620 personnel for security coverage




The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers State, has deployed over 1600 officers and men to provide adequate security before, during and after the Sallah Celebration.

Commandant Michael Ogar in a strategic security briefing with the Management Staff and 23 Local Government Area Divisional Officers said Security reports are fundamental and indispensable in order to combat the spate of insecurity in the nation especially in a crucial time like this.

During the briefing, the Commandant gave a directive that the Divisional officers must work very closely with Churches, Mosques and Traditional Rulers in their respective Local Government Area in order to gather credible Intelligence and information needed to forestall criminalities across the State.
The Rivers State Commandant further said that the Command would synergize with respective stakeholders and Sister agencies in curbing all forms of criminalities in the State, he assured the good people of Rivers State that the eid-el-kabir celebration will go on in tranquillity and without any hitch. He further advised parents and guardians on the need to caution their wards against unlawful association and enjoined the public to report all suspicious movement of criminals to the NSCDC and other security agencies.
While wishing the Muslim faithful a happy Eid -el- Kabir, Ogar reaffirmed his commitment to anti-vandalism war and that perpetrators of illegal dealings in petroleum products would be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
