Khana LGA chairman discovers illegal Oil refining site leads security agents for its destruction

The Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Dr. Thomas Bariere have led a crack team of security operatives to destroy a newly discovered oil bunkering camp at Bane Community in Khana LGA.

You would recall that earlier this year the executive Governor of Rivers state His Excellency Barr. Nyesom Wike, had given a standing order mandating all local government chairmen to identify and destroy all illegal oil refining site in their respective LGA’s.

Pursuant to this order the khana council boss identified and destroyed the first discovered site at wiibura Kpean and now another in Bane Community.

Dr. Thomas while addressing newsmen shortly after the raid explained that illegal oil refining activities remains one of the major causes of black soot in the state and its injurious to human health.

He Stressing the activities have negative effects on the economy, agriculture and lives of indigenes within the community.

He explained that everyone involved in the activity will be investigated and made to face the full wrath of the law

Speaking further Dr. Thomas expressed his profound gratitude to the security agencies within the LGA for working assiduously in the delivery of their services.

The Khana council boss also pledged to carryout the order of the executive Governor of Rivers state His Excellency Barr Nyesom Wike to ensure all the illegal oil refineries within the LGA are discovered and destroyed.
