President Muhammadu Buhari, has written to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation of Nigeria's acting chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the substantive chief Justice.
Senator Ahmad Lawan the (senate president) read the letter as received from the Nigeria president during plenary.
It will be recalled the Justice Tanko Muhammed resigned as the chief justice due to ill health according to his letter of resignation before Justice Olukayode Ariwoola was subsequently sworn in as an acting CJN by the president as required by the law.
Justice Ariwoola was next oldest serviing justice at the supreme court after Tank Muhammad.
