Privately-owned 100,000 BPD Refinery to be built in Rivers State

 

Nigeria will be getting a privately-owned greenfield [new] 100,000 bpd refinery in Port Harcourt, within the premises of the existing Port Harcourt Refinery (PHR) undergoing rehabilitation in Eleme, Rivers State. Construction on the new 100,000 bpd will be completed in 3 years.

The multibillion project is owned by African Refineries Port Harcourt Limited with Omotayo Adebajo as CEO, and to be constructed by Italians, Tecnimont SpA.

The refinery will produce Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as fuel, Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) Popularly known as diesel, Jet A-1, (LPG), and Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO) by 2025.

By the quantity of 100,000 barrel per day when converted to litres is 15,900,000 litres per day.
