The Rivers State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Surv. Anea-Bari Donald Burabe, earlier today, 19th July 2022 honoured the invitation of Nigeria Agip Oil Company Limited, for a 2-day Sensitization of Host Community Development Provision of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
The sensitization Involves representatives of Cluster communities comprising Eleme, Okrika, Kalabari, Emuoha, Ikwerre, Etche, Abua/Odual, Ekpeye, Engeni and Port Harcourt.
The Commissioner in his remarks thanked Nigeria Agip Oil Company for taking out time to enlighten communities on the Petroleum Industry Act and commended the representatives of the various communities for attending the event.
He stressed that the PIA will serve as a framework which the IOCs will operate and the communities will benefit from the developmental programmes that will be carried out.
