Shops numbering over 1,000 to be demolished by Anambra state government.

In line with the plan of Anambra state Governor prof. Charles soludo to change and renew urban centres and market in the state, the Anambra State Government has marked some shops numbering  over 1,000 for demolition at the Ochanja Market in Onitsha.

The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, led a joint task force and engineers to monitor various sections of the market on Friday.

The ochanja market which has structural defaults has also been alleged to be illegal structures  without government approval.

The team also visited other markets at Ogidi and Ogbunike.
