E- passports production center commissioned in Rivers State

The Deputy governor of Rivers State was present as the minister of Interior commissioned the e-Passport processing centre in Port Harcourt.

The Deputy governor represented His Excellency, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS,POS Africa. 

The center will serve Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers State.

During the Commissioning, the Deputy governor said:

"We are delighted that applicants for international passports would no longer need the services of third parties to obtain their passports."

"It is a great encouragement for our people and we do hope with this development, the issues of undue delays to obtain passports and other bottleneck will now be a thing of the past."

"I reiterated the Rivers State Government's commitment to enhance security in the State by partnering with all the security agencies in which has made Rivers State the most peaceful place to stay in the whole of Nigeria."  

"We will keep it that way to boost investor confidence.

"We thank the Hon Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his team for citing the center in Port Harcourt, and for the reforms made in the National Immigration Service.

"These are excellent reforms and we wish them great success as they roll them out. 

"We are grateful and will always be supportive of such initiatives by the Federal Government."
