Ekity State command Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who has been parading himself as a medical doctor and defrauding POS operators in Ado Ekiti.
The command public relation officer said the young man 36, was arrested following intelligence report and hard-work of the counterterrorism unit that suspect collects cash from POS operator and send fake alert.
According to the PRO, the suspect also uses an application on his phone, which also triggered a fake call from hospital that a patient needed his attention.
The PRO further stated that he has been committing the fraud within Ado Ekiti metropolis over 25 POS operators have fallen victim before men of the counter-terrorism unit launched a manhunt for him with their dragnet which paid off of when he was arrested yesterday. Preliminary investigation showed that he is not a doctor but an okada rider.
He said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as the command concludes investigations on the matter.
