Ndidi: I was always fighting to get the No.12 jersey at the start of my career because of my love for Mikel Obi



Nigerian and Leicester midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, said John Obi Mike a former supper eagles captain and midfielder, his childhood hero.

Ndidi disclose this during when speaking on a Twitter space hosted by FanBants.

when he was asked who his childhood hero is, he said: 

“Mikel. Because of him, I was always fighting to get the No.12 jersey at the start of my career. I have massive respect for what he did for Chelsea and the Super Eagles. I always looked up to him a lot.

“When he was at Chelsea, I was at Nath Boys (as a youth player) and I have always liked him as a player. The way he plays is amazing. He was so important for Nigerian football,”.

Wilfred Ndidi have made a total of 54 appearances for Nigeria. 7 appearances for the under 20 national team and 47 for the senior national team
