Port Harcourt federal High Court adjourns against all APC National and state assembly candidate

The Federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to the 20th of September for hearing on the suit filed by People’s Democratic Party against APC National Assembly in Rivers state. 

The PDP is seeking Independent National Electoral Commission to disqualify all the National Assembly candidates of APC for noncompliance to electoral act and not allowing INEC to monitor their just concluded party primaries.

When the matter was called,  counsel to defendants filled an applications  asking  the court for more extension of time to regularize their documents, but were not opposed by plaintiffs.

Our correspondent reports that Barrister EZIMONYE Ezekiel Amadi who is the 12 defendant and standing for himself draw the attention of the judge to an application of petition for the judge to stand down on the case.

The presiding judge Justice STEPHEN DAYLOP-PAM adjourned till 20th of September 2022 for hearing.

Meanwhile, speaking to Journalists outside the court, the Candidate of the APC  for Ikwerre-Emohua Federal Constituency, EZIMONYE EZIKIEL said the action of Justice STEPHEN DAYLOP-PAM has again proven their earlier alarm that the judge is in a mission to stop them from contesting.

On his path, APC Candidate for Rivers West, ASITA HONOURABLE said they will resist every attempt by Justice STEPHEN DAYLOP-PAM to hear their suit.
