Port Harcourt Magistrate Court adjourn Professor David Ogbonna case to 29 of August


A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned the case of unlawful and indecent assault against Professor David Ogbonna a lecturer of Rivers State University to 29th of August.

Professor Ogbonna is facing the allegation of assaulting  a 20-year female student of the University.

When the case came up, a representative and lawyer from Rivers State Ministry of Justice, G.U. Amaa informed the court that the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP advice on the case was not yet out.  

Aana prayed the court for more time so that before the next adjournment date the DPP advice would be out.

Correspondent Ayo Odungweru reports that the defence team did not oppose the application of G.U Aamana before the Chief Magistrate, POROMON MENENEN, adjourned the case for continuation of hearing.

Recall that State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Port Harcourt had on June 28,2022 arraigned Professor David Ogbonna before the state government took over the prosecution.
