Rivers Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs honors student week ofElechi Amadi Polytechnic

 

The Honorable Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Rivers State, Surv. Anea-Bari Donald Burabe honored the invitation from students of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic today.

The event which was used to draw down the curtain on a week-long students' week activities of the polytechnic witnessed the showcasing of cultural activities of different ethnic groups by respective student groups in the institution.

Surv. Burabe commended the students for their peaceful disposition and for having a well-organized event. He advised them to use the event to enhance cultural tolerance among themselves. The Honorable Commissioner also thanked the management of the polytechnic for providing the enabling environment for the students' week to be hitch-free.

The SUG president, Comrade Cyril Adookon was full of praises for the display of humility from the Honorable Commissioner.

In an extended courtesy, the Honorable Commissioner paid a visit on the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Barr. Sam B. Kalagbor at his office. The rector was pleased with the commissioner while acknowledging his humility and leadership style. He seized the opportunity to congratulate Surv. Burabe on his new appointment. The Rector also spoke so well of the SUG president who notwithstanding is a kinsman of the Honorable Commissioner.

The Deputy Rector (Academics), Dr. Moses Neebee was also on ground at the cultural day celebration as well the Dean of Student Affairs. Also present was the leader of Khana Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Gobari Albright Deebom amongst others.
