Chairman of Emohua LGA in Rivers state says Nigerians have missed an opportunity for Gov. Wike not being a presidential candidate


The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd says it is regrettable that Nigerians missed the opportunity to elect a president who has the capacity and capability to rescue Nigeria from its present security and economic challenges, describing the Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as a leader with the willpower to salvage acclaimed giant of Africa from retrogression and reposition the country on the path to economic prosperity and development.

He said the gang up against Governor Wike's quest for a better Nigeria was as a result of the governor's firmness and ability to speak truth to power on issues of national interest, describing the governor's traducers as political buccaneers.
Dr. Chidi Lloyd spoke during the commissioning of the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University built by the Nyesom Wike led Rivers State government in Emohua local government area on Wednesday.
He added that Governor Wike's tremendous achievements in Rivers State amidst the economic downturn in Nigeria places the governor in a better position to bring his wealth of experience into the administration of the country, to restore the dignity of Nigerians.
The council chairman said the people of Emohua local government area are very proud of the governor and his achievements in Rivers State, and as a major beneficiary of the governor's goodwill, the people of Emohua cannot hesitate to respond swiftly whenever and wherever Governor Wike calls them, citing the biblical quotation in Ruth 1:16 to the relationship between Governor Nyesom-Wike and the people of Emohua local government area.
He commended the governor for appointing sons of Emohua LGA into strategic positions in his administration, as well as the number of infrastructural projects executed across the local government area.
The Emolga council Boss however made a soft reminder of Governor Wike's earlier promise to reconstruct Government Secondary School Emohua displaced by the immediate past administration in Rivers State, which Governor Wike immediately consented to with a directive for the inspection of the proposed site for the reconstruction of the school.
Governor Wike who appreciated the people of Emohua local government area for their unwavering support to his administration, said he has no regret appointing sons of the LGA into strategic positions in his administration, stating that their appointments were done one merit, because of their qualifications.
The governor said the people of Emohua LGA deserves the presence of his administration in the area because they had always stood by him.
He added that the establishment of the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University was conceptualized to decongest the main campus of the university and open up Emohua for rapid development in the coming days, in line with the dreams of the founding fathers of the university.
The Rivers State governor who directed the chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd to construct a police station at the Emohua campus of the Rivers State University to provide adequate security within and around the university campus, also directed the management of the institution to come up with a bill of quantity for the completion of the abandoned structures defacing the new campus, with a view to providing additional facilities in the campus.
The well attended ceremony had the governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde as the special guest, who performed the inauguration of the new university campus.
The special guest also performed the foundation laying for the construction of a staff residential quarters within the new campus.
Earlier, the chairman of government recognized traditional rulers in Emohua LGA and paramount ruler of Emohua kingdom, HRM Sir Ohna Sergeant Awuse during the presentation of kola nuts to Governor Wike and his entourage, said the people of the area are very proud to be associated with Governor Nyesom-Wike and will always stand wherever the governor stands.
