INEC set date to publish final list for all contestants ahead of 2023 general election

Nigeria's Electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission has disclosed date for the release of final lists for presidential and governorship candidates for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

INEC Chairman in an event in Abuja, said while the final list of the presidential candidates will be out on September 20, that of governorship hopefuls will be released on October 4 respectively.

The INEC Chairman however further asked political parties and their candidates to focus on issue-based campaigns, said that the commission is collaborating with security agencies to ensure a peaceful election.

Next elections will be the second general elections to be conducted by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as head of the electoral empire.
