LGA chairmen of Emuoha, Akuku toru, Asari toru and Degema meet to collaborate and curb insecurity along Emohua-Kalabari road

The Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru LGA of Rivers State, Hon. Rowland Sekibo alongside his Emolga, Delga and Asari-Toru LGA counterparts stormed the dreaded Emohua-Kalabari road in company of DCP Mohammed Shehu, Rivers State Deputy Commissioner of Police.
You will recall as reported by rivnews, that kidnapping of passengers from commercial buses has become the order of the day in that area.

The road is the only motorable access road to the three (3) Kalabari speaking LGAs; Akuku-Toru, Delga and Asari-Toru, through Emohua LGA, Rivers State.
The collaborative efforts of the aforesaid is geared towards addressing this ugly menace, such that will restore confidence and hope on the masses who ply the road for their business endeavours.
The Emohua local government chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd who spoke on behalf of his counterparts said the increasing rate of kidnap and armed robbery cases reported along the Emohua-Kalabari road has become a source of worry to the chairmen of the affected LGAs.
Hon. Chidi Lloyd assured that the synergy between the security agencies and his colleagues will bring to an end the issue of insecurity along the Emohua-Kalabari road, while calling for support from critical stakeholders, residents and road users, especially in the area of information gathering.
Meanwhile the Executive Chairman of Akulga, Hon. Rowland Sekibo has further reiterated their commitment in tackling the insecurity challenges and the deplorable state of the Emohua-Kalabari road.
He said the four LGA chairmen are working in synergy with the security agencies to tackle the situation, in line with their commitment to the protection of lives and properties.
The deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations (DCP OPs) in Rivers State, DCP Mohammed Shehu said the synergy between the council chairmen and the security agencies is intended to check criminal activities along the Emohua-Kalabari road following reports of kidnap cases in the area.
He said the police will also collaborate with local vigilante groups in Emohua and the three Kalabari speaking LGAs, especially in the area of information gathering.
