President Buhari receives polish president, MOU on agriculture signed

Nigeria's president, Muhammadu Buhari today received the Polish President, Andrzej Duda, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The polish president arrived at the Villa at about 11:00 am, he was received by the prsident after which he inspected a guard of honour.

To strengthen both countries in Agricultural sector, both leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Agriculture to ensure good collaboration between both countries.

During press briefing at the front porch of the Presidential Villa, the the polish president said the  MoU became necessary in the light of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and the consequent food crisis. He said Poland is supporting affected states and its partner countries to boost agricultural yield.

The polish president also made some remarks in the Energy sector. He noted that Nigeria, being rich in gas, will ensure a steady increase of supply to Poland and the rest of the European Union while President Buhari thanked the Polish Government for opening its arms to Nigerian students whose studies were truncated by the Russia-Ukraine crisis; offering them opportunities for continued education.
