Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike to commissions Rivers state university campus ABARA in Etche LGA

All is set for the commissioning of Rivers State University Etche Campus, Abara, Etche Local Government Area built by the Rivers state Government, under the leadership of his excellency Gov Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

In June 2021 during the flagg-off of the Etche campus of Rivers State University, His Excellency the executive Governor of Rivers State Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike promised to complete the project to house the faculty of Agriculture within the period of 1 year.

In his usual manner Gov. Wike has kept to his promise by completing the project within the stipulated time frame as he will be performing the commissioning today.

Departments under the faculty of Agriculture expected to move to etche campus include;

1) Agricultural Economics

2) Agricultural Extension

3) Soil Science

4) Crop/Agronomy

5) Animal Science

6) Forestry and wildlife Management

7) Fishery and Aquaculture

8) Food science and Technology

While Agricultural Engineering and Agric Education will remain in the main campus.

The project which is inline with the urban decongestion initiative of Gov Wike's administration will likewise, put Etche on educational map Rivers State and the nation at large.

The campus will help in decongesting the main campus and also help in opening up Etche local Government area of the state.

The Governor is scheduled to commission that of Emuoha on September 7th, 2022.
