Rivers state police command orders all Political Parties to submit their campaign timetable

Rivers state police command has ordered all Political Parties in the State to submit their campaign timetable to the Police authorities.

The state Commissioner of Police Friday Eboka gave the order during an all-inclusive security/Electoral stakeholders meeting with political leaders and candidates today in Port Harcourt.

He advised the political parties to make concessions where the need arises because the intention is to avert a clash of campaign venues and dates.

He however advised the youths in the State to resist any politicians that want to use them as tools of electoral violence. 

On his party, the INEC Assistant Director of Voters Education and Publicity in the State, Mark Osuro advised the political parties that law requires them to give forty-eight hours' notice to the Commissioner of Police about the campaign.

He also said that there will be an analog collation of election results at the polling units during the 2023 general elections. 

All heads of security agencies in the State, Governorship candidates of PDP, APC, Accord party, all aspirants in different platforms signed a communique to abide by the peace accord reached during the meeting.
