Rivers state Primary Healthcare Management Board to commence measles immunization in October

Rivers state Primary Healthcare Management Board says it will commence measles campaign in the 23 local government areas of the state in two streams from 6th of October 2022.

The state Immunization Officer, Doctor Joseph Urang made this known during a Media Coordinating Meeting for Integrated Measles campaign which will run from 6th to 19th October for the two streams.

Doctor Urang also said the measles immunization is targeted for children within the ages of 9 to 59 months to boast their immunity.

He highlighted some of the complications that could occur as a result of the disease urging parents to make their children available for the vaccination.
