The All Progressive Congress presidential candidate and the party may be in deeper crisis notable presidential aspirants like senate lawan, Rotimi Amaechi were not present at a peace meeting organised by the part's flag bearer Bola Amed Tinubu.
The National working committee of the party and its presidential candidate have been working seriously to mend fences with aggrieved members ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
It has been reported that those invited for the meeting were Vice President Osinbajo; Amed Lawan; Rotimi Amaechi; Ogbonnaya Onu; former minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio; Governors Yahaya Bello, Dave Umahi, Abubakar Badaru, Ben Ayade, Kayode Fayemi etc.
The meeting did not hold as the reason was not disclosed though the convener of the meeting said a date will be communicated to all invitees.
A source said Tinubu’s romance with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike is the reason why Amaechi shunned the peace meeting.
According to the source, the Minister, who came second at the presidential primary election, felt slighted that Tinubu and his men were making overtures to Governor Nysom Wike
