While Oyo state governor becomes PDP governors' forum chairman, Tambuwal denies resigning from his position as the forum chairman

There are reports that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has emerged as the new Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum.

Makinde emerged as the new chairman few minutes after the former chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State resigns from the position according to reports.

But Tambuwal. in another twist, has denied resigning from his position as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum.

This may potent another danger for the party ahead of the 2023 general election as the oyo state governor emerged as the new chairman at the ongoing PDP National Executive Council Board meeting in Abuja.

Tambuwal denial is contained in a statement signed by the Director General of the forum, CID Maduabum, and made available to press on Friday morning.

The statement read: ''This is to inform the general public and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party , that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum contrary to some media reports.

''Members of the PDP GOVERNORS FORUM are working behind the scenes to resolve all contending issues concerning the Party. To this end a meeting of the Forum will soon be convened.''
