The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze, Engr. Samuel Nwanosike, PhD, has stated that the Executive Governor of the State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has fulfilled all the campaign promises he made to the people of Ikwerre LGA during his electioneering period.
Dr. Nwanosike stated this at Igwuruta on Wednesday during the flag off of Igwuruta internal roads construction.
He said, "During your electioneering campaign you made a promise to this community and this local government that you will transform this local government to the amazement of men and women.
"Your Excellency, let me tell the entire world here that you have fulfilled those promises you made to us".
The Ikwerre Council Chairman recounted that Gov Wike has constructed roads at Omademe, Ipo, Isiokpo, Omerelu and flagged off construction of roads at Omagwa and now Igwuruta. Adding that he reconstructed Government Secondary School, Ubima, Community Secondary School, Omuanwa, amongst numerous other projects.
He said, "I can walk the 13 Wards of Ikwerre Local Government and I have visible things to point out to Ikwerre Local Government people to tell them the reason why they would vote for the candidate of PDP in the governorship election and other candidates of PDP as you will direct us to vote.
"We are saying that you are our beautiful pride. Where you lead, we follow".
Dr, Nwanosike thanked Gov Wike for his love for Ikwerre people, saying that he has shown Nigerians that leaders should keep to the oath of office they take when elected.
The Igwuruta internal roads, which is to be constructed by the Rivers State Government, was flagged off by the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
While describing the project, the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr. Dakorinama George-Kelly, stated that the road would be 10km long, has six separate roads that are interlinked and would be completed in 6 months.
The company handling the road construction is MCC.
