Governor Wike ask Celestine Omehia to approach the court or pay N695m

Rivers State Governor chief Barrister Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, has insisted that Sir Celestine Omehia must refund the entitlements he had received, which is  over N695m as ex-governor for six months.

Wike said this during a live media chat in Port Harcourt, on Friday at his private residence with some media houses.

He said, “If the Assembly made a mistake, and they have now realised their mistake, what is wrong with that?

“I have signed the instrument of derecognition and he seizes to exist a former governor.”

When asked by one of the journalist what will happen if Omehia doesn’t pay after seven days as directed, Wike said government had a number of options.

“But he (Omehia) has to pay or he challenge us in court. According to the Governor, he said the state Attorney General will advise on what to do because the state government has a number of options to take.”
