Akwa-Ibom State Governor admits that PDP made a mistake

Udom Emmanuel Akwa-Ibom State Governor

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State during an interview said their party, the Peoples Democratic Party made a mistake.

The Governor who doubles as Chairman of PDP presidential campaign council, Udom Emmanuel admitted the mistake, but said it will however not break the party.

He said "I must also confess as a party, we’ve made mistakes, and as individuals, we’ve made mistakes. But these mistakes, I can assure you, will not break us.

"We are trying to come back, review and then reappraise and see how we can move forward, and I can assure you, we’ll do that.

PDP has been facing challenges base on the demand of five PDP governors, under the aegis of G5, for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu as the National Chairman of the party.

According to Udom Emmanuel, the G5 governors are still members of the PDP, and that four of them are candidates of the party in next year’s election.

According to him, "Even spoons and plates hit themselves and create a lot of noise; that doesn’t mean they’ve broken, is the situation here. For the fact that people are unhappy, it is inevitable, definitely inevitable, with a large party like PDP.”

The G5 is led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and a defeated PDP presidential aspirant.

The others are Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).
