The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu, has reacted to his suspension. The embattled national chairman said that the PDP constitution expressly prohibits any organ of the party or executive committee at ward, state or national level to take any disciplinary measure against any member of the National Executive Committee, therefore only the NEC can suspend him.

The ward excos of Iyorchia Ayu the national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party has suspended him for anti-party activities after passing vote of no confidence on him. The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State stated that the suspension is with immediate effect.

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has debunked reports that the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, made remarks about the qualification of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Wednesday witnessed the presentation of certificates of return to the Rivers State governor-elect, Sir Siminialayi Fubara; his deputy, Ngozi Odu; and the 32 members elect of the State House of Assembly. Governor Wike, alongside former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Chibudum Nwuche; former Deputy National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Sam Sam Jaja and the PDP chairman in Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Akawor , among others witnessed the presentation of the certificates of return at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Port Harcourt.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has said his Benue State counterpart, Dr. Samuel Ortom will not appear before National Disciplinary Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities. The governor, has also described the suspension of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose and others for anti-party activities by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP as a nullity.
