Some farmers in Rivers State have expressed their displeasure over absence of the State governor sir Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy professor Ngozi Odu as they did not attend the Exhibition and Townhall meeting for all farmers in the state which was held at Obi Wali Cultural center in Port Harcourt.
The technocrats who include Chairman, Animal Science Association Rivers State, and a finance consultant and engineer Mr. Charles Okoro lamented that the farmers who turned up after the event was publicized, were disappointed.
The stakeholders who made the observation when they featured as guests on our Shadez Agrotainment: Agriculture Today programmes regretted that the farmers never got answers to their challenges.
A Senior Lecturer with the Rivers State University, described the programme as an eyeopener for real farmers and urged the state government to narrow such programme down to the local government areas.
Meanwhile the Governor who was represented by permanent secretary for the ministry of agriculture had that day announced its plan to leverage on 4billion-naira Agric loan from Bank of Industry (BOI) to stimulate agriculture production in the state.
