North-East zonal treasurer of PDP dumps party over how Governor Wike was treated by the party leadership.

PDP north east zonal treasurer Galadima Abba Itas, has dumped the party in protest over how Governor Nysom Wike was treated by the party leaders during and after the presidential primary election especially going against a committee decision.

In a letter he wrote to the ward chairman of Itas Gadau Local Government Area of Bauchi State, he stated as follows:

“My resignation was as a result of wide consultations with my teeming supporters, political associates and in response to the unfair and unjust treatment extended to His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, the Executive Governor of Rivers State during and after the presidential primary convention.

“As a critical stakeholder, unjust and unfair treatment of founding members posed a great threat to the collective political interest of our leaders and us, thereby necessitating my resignation in protest of the ways things are unfolding in the party.”

He said PDP has not shown readiness to reclaim power in the next election circle. 

Meanwhile some political analyst in Nigeria are saying that PDP has not shown that they are ready for 2023 presidential election because of some internal crisis due maltreatment of Rivers State Governor.
