Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku set to remove all human manipulations in revenue generation at the university.

The acting Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku is determined to remove all human manipulations in revenue generation at the university.

Prof. Onuchuku disclosed this when he led the management of the institution to the corporate head office of MRsoft Technology, on Friday, May 19, 2023.

MRsoft Technology is the IT consulting firm to the university.

Explaining that the visit was to discuss with the company on how to fashion out better and more efficient ways of making all forms of financial transactions easier and safe for the students, he regretted that some dubious business owners operating in the institution, as well as some members of staff were stealing from the students and the system.

“I want to make dubious business ventures and members of staff who are stealing money from the students and the system redundant”, he declared.

Prof. Onuchuku, while noting that an efficient electronic payment system would reduce the waste caused by human manipulations and boost revenue generation in the university, added that it would also ensure that units that generate more money are not starved of funds. 

Insisting that the use of ICT has become the practice in human and material resource management all over the world, the vice-chancellor said he would deploy technology in other areas like security, e-lectures, checking examination malpractices, among others.

He commended the firm for deploying modern IT infrastructure in the services it offers to the university and hoped that the relationship would yield more fruitful results.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of MRsoft Technology, Mr Mbato Robinson, said the visit was a “great honour and privilege”, adding that it would enhance the relationship between the firm and the institution.

Mbato, shortly after a presentation of the services the firm offers, including plans to reposition the fortunes of IAUE, explained that the firm was committed to making the university a world class institution through the use of modern digital technology.

He noted that the company has contributed to boosting students’ enrolment at the institution by taking away the difficulties associated with registration, mobilization for the NYSC, and other services, and asserted that the firm’s e-election platform has reduced students’ election related crisis at the university.
