It was a symbolic and reverential home coming for the standard bearer of the PDP, in the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State. Sir, Siminalayi J. Fubara, as he visited His Majesty King (Dr.) Dandeson Douglas Jaja JP, Jeki V, Treaty King and Natural Ruler of the Ancient Opobo Kingdom and his Council of Chiefs in Opobo Town.
Sir, Siminalayi Fubara, said:
"I have come to officially present myself to my Fathers and to inform you that by the special grace of God, your Son is the flag bearer of the ruling Party (PDP) in the State and I have come to ask for your prayers, blessings and support."
He further seized the medium to request from His Majesty and the Council of Chiefs, to show gratitude to the the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
In his response, His Majesty King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, JP, appreciated the PDP flag bearer and his entourage for paying respect to the King Jaja stool and assured him of the full support and prayers of the entire Opobo Kingdom.
He was accompanied by Party bigwigs from the Opobo/Nkoro and other personalities.
