Wike happy with corps members impressive achievement in Rivers State communities as 2428 passes out

 


Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has expressed happiness over "impressive and remarkable achievements made by corps members in various communities across the state".

He made this feeling known today, when he presided over the passing out ceremony for 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members who served in the state.

Represented at the occasion by Dr. George Nwaeke, the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Governor Wike applauded the corps members exploits in their Places of Primary Assignment using the platform of Community Development Service, CDS to touch lives positively.

He noted that their high level of commitment bears "eloquent testimony of their readiness and capacity to be positive change agents".

He congratulated them for their spirit of '"patriotism and dedication to duty".

Furthermore, the Governor charged them to remain "steadfast, focused, disciplined, peace-loving and patriotic especially as the 2023 general elections approaches".

In a farewell address, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers state, Mr. George Mfongang advised the corps members to "work hard to reinvigorate the nation's economy to the path of progress and prosperity wherever they go and in whatever they do".

He also called on them to keep the flag of NYSC flying high through exemplary character and conduct in their chosen future endeavors.

3 Corps Members won the State Honours Award, 1 won Chairman NYSC State Governing Board Merit Award while 26 were punished in accordance with NYSC Bye Laws.

Out of the 26 punished, 11 are to repeat the whole service year while 15 will serve extension of service ranging from one to four months on half pay.

A total of 2428 corps members passed out during the ceremony.
