The Rivers State Government on Wednesday announced the suspension of Principal of Government Girls Secondary School (UBE) Rumuokwuta, Lucy Wihioka, over extortion.
A statement by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Chinedu Mmom, explains that the suspension followed her unsatisfactory response to the query given her on the brazen collection of illegal fees. Remember rivnews has previously reported that Rivers state commissioner for education summoned a principal over extortion.
The statement reads:
''The Principal of Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Rumuokwuta has been suspended with immediate effect''.
''The suspension is as a result of her unsatisfactory response to the query issued her on the alleged extortion of money from students''.
''She is hereby directed to handover to the Vice Principal (Administration) to act as the Principal until further directive.
