Federal High Court in Port Harcourt adjourns hearing on matters against Accord party Candidates in Rivers State

Justice Adams -Turaki Muhammed of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has adjourned a suit against Assembly Candidates of Accord Partyin Rivers State to 23rd of September.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, had asked the court to compel Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, not to recognise Accord State Assembly Candidates for alleged non-compliance to 2022Electoral Act while conducting their primaries.

When the case was called today for hearing, counsel to Accord Party ABDULHAMEED MUHAMMED drew the attention of the court for motion of jurisdiction and request for time to get some documents from INEC.

MUHAMMED said this was in order to regularize their documents, while counsel to 3rd to 27th defendants ABIODUN OWONIKOKO notified the court that a proper service has not yet been served on his clients.

The presiding judge, JUSTICES Adams Turaki Muhammed adjourned to 23rd of September for hearing.
