Rivers State University Department of Nursing gets 100% Increase in Nursing Admisision Quota.

Nursing And Midwifery council of Nigeria Visited the Rivers State University for Accreditation of the Nursing Sciences Program in the College of Medicine Sciences.

Impressed with the Facilities, Infrastructure, and Manpower of the department , the Nursing Council of Nigeria has gone ahead to approve a 100% increase in the Admission Quota of the Department.

Registrar of the Council and head of the accreditation team, Alhaji(Dr) Farouk Umar Abubakar Commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule and the leadership of the College led by Prof Chituru Orluwene, for ensuring quality academic administration and unhindered academic activities in the college.

The Registra, Dr Farouk Umar also commended the College for provision of transport vehicles that would transport students for clinical and community nursing activities.

The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria commended the political will of the Governor of Rivers State - His Excellency Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike, when they visited the construction site of the new Department of Nursing Complex within the premises of the college of Medical Sciences, RSU; a project started by the state Governor early this year and billed to be Commissioned by the end of this year. 

He applauded the Executive Governor Of Rivers State, H.E. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike, for his manifest determination to improve the health infrastructure and manpower development in Rivers State.

In Response the Vice-Chancellor commended the head of the team for their commitment in ensuring Quality Academic Delivery noting that the University is not only producing Nurses for Nigeria but Nurses who will be needed internationally and also assured them that every concern will be looked into and the University will continue to improve and continue to be a citadel of excellence .
