The people of Ogoni ethnic Nationality are insisting on the implementation of the Ogoni Bill of Rights 32 years after

The people of Ogoni in Rivers State are insisting on the implementation of the Ogoni Bill of Rights 32 years after it was endorsed by leaders of the ethnic nationality.

The people emphasised that the Bill of Rights was created in order to address environmental injustice they suffer in Ogoniland through a nonviolent approach.

The Ogoni people said demands for environmental justice was spearheaded by the late activist, KEN SARO-WIVA.

One of the leaders of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, MOSOP, FEGALO NSUKE spoke to our correspondent in an interview to mark the 32nd anniversary of the Ogoni Bill Of Rights.

NSUKE said it was commendable since the beginning of the struggle as he called on the federal government to take urgent steps to address the issue.

FEGALO NSUKE further said the Ogoni people had made a proposal to the Federal Government for the creation of Ogoni Development Authority stressing that it would address a fundamental problem.
