Wike's order for payment of grand rent yield fruits as FCTA generate over a billion Naira in a month

The minister of FCT chief Barrister Ezenwo Wike issued a two-week ultimatum for those owing ground rents to pay up or have their property revoked during his interactionswith senior staff members of FCTA after his inauguration that has led to the recovery of N1 billion in one month.

After the directive by the minister, property owner / landlords have been visiting Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) to payup their debt.

From the information available to Rivnews, the acting director of Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) Dr. Isiaku Ndatsu Alfa stated that there has been a surge in payment of the ground rents.

He said "immediately after the minister’s order in August, ground rent earnings rose to N500 million and increased steadily to over N1 billion"

"The grand rent has generated precisely N1.9 billion, and the figure is estimated to double by the end of the month.

"with the planned introduction of an online payment portal for the collection of ground rents, certificate of occupancy (C of O), and others, transactions would be easier, and more monies collected by AGIS.
