Rivers State government to host the reigning champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Rivers United

Rivers United, a Rivers state football club won the 2021/2022 NPFL title as the champion. It was reported by rivnews on Sunday, that Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike presented 2021/2022 NPFL Trophy to the football club.

The Rivers State Government will on Thursday, July 21, host the reigning champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Rivers United FC to a grand reception as approved by the state governor through the commissioner for sports Christopher Green

The ceremony will take place at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt with the commencement time fixed for 10:00am.

Amongst other activities planned for the grand reception is the presentation of the NPFL trophy to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS Africa.

Rivers United finished as runaway leaders of the NPFL season with 77points from 38 matches.
