Residence of the community has reportedly embarked on a protest, blaming Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC for the two incidents that has happened within the space of two months.
At the site of first oil spill, reports has it that the residents said they discovered the leakage at a facility believed to be owned by SPDC along the Bodo New Market Farm Road at about 5pm.
It has also been observed that water was coming out of the pipeline which may be a measure to prevent the spill from entering nearby farmlands.
No official of SPDC or the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, was on ground yesterday and they are yet to issue official statement.
